Challenge Course
Sulphur Springs Ranch contains a low impact challenge course that stimulates the mind and body and encourages creative and strategic juices to flow. The course, surrounded by the dense forest, is a short hike from the main ranch and can be utilized for special groups, team recreation, or individual enrichment. The trained and knowledgeable staff at the Ranch are available to give instruction and counseling on the location of the course, how to use it, and the empowerment education it provides.

The Island Game is an activity that encourages participants to strategize and develop good communication. Many versions of this game can be played to vary the difficulty level from fairly easy to extremely hard. Bridge Over Troubled Waters is a more difficult endeavor that fosters teamwork, communication, and creative problem solving. This activity can be accomplished individually or in groups of any size.

The Boardwalk is a feature that cultivates trust in your teammates, the ability to fully utilize your resources, and balance. Many different strategies for completing this activity are possible; you can also create your own games. The Boardwalk can be attempted individually to increase confidence, independence, and more balance.

The Swinging Log enhances balance and resource utilization and should not be attempted individually. The purpose of this activity is to empower the participant to not only complete a task, but to feel confident to ask for help and use his or her resources to their fullest extent.

The Challenge Course is an excellent avenue to increase teamwork and communication in groups and to develop feelings of self-confidence, self-esteem, and empowerment in each individual. You can schedule special groups to take advantage of this course with the help of our trained staff or feel free to explore it on your own when you visit the ranch.
